Teaching kids about money....

All of the planning of our next disney vacation has been great with teaching our kids about money- raising money, saving money, how much things cost, how hard it is to get money, how to budget for what we want, and learning to prioritize within our budget. We've got our change jars and separate buckets for certain things... One bucket is for money to buy food while traveling, another is for our admittance costs to Disney Quest, etc... I could go on and on. My daughter's school decided to host a yard sale as a PTO fundraiser. My 9 year old saw that as an opportunity to raise some extra money. :) she managed to talk me into agreeing to get a spot ($10) and hopefully things will go well for us tomorrow! They decided that all money raised will be split through their special jars. They've spent the last week sorting, pricing, and boxing items. After all, you have to put a little work in to reap the benefits. :) they've been very patient waiting for tomorrow to come. I wish I could say that I'm as excited as them to wake up at 6 am on a Saturday... But I get to spend time with my girlies and watch their excitement as they earn their vacation money! Wish us luck!
