A few little extras you may want at Disney

While it's fresh in my brain...  :-)  Some things you may want to save extra money for....For some people it's not a big deal, but for families on a tight budget...every dollar counts; so planning ahead for extras is a must.

Face paint!  The parks have these INCREDIBLE face paint stands and do such a great job.  BUT... the cost is $15 per person.  With 4 kids, we weren't prepared for that and missed out.  Our next trip, though, we specifically have funds set aside for this.  It doesn't seem like something you would have to include, but for little girls....even little boys...this is just AWESOME!  Downtown Disney has this as well.  I found this link with some of the images they do.

Parking:  It adds up fast.  Parking is $14/day at each park.  If you have a park hopper pass and go from one park to the next in the same day, save your receipt so that you won't have to pay for parking in the next park that day.

GLOW IN THE DARK TOYS/JEWELRY!  At night, if you're traveling with kids, you are going to want to either bring glow in the dark toys (swords, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) or have some extra money to buy one of these cool toys to play with.  We stayed for the Electrical parade at Magic Kingdom and each of our kids bought one toy - either a light up motorized windmill toy or a flashing light saber.  Each one was about $10..so that's $40 gone right there.  The kids will want something that glows to join in on the fun for these events.

MICKEY MOUSE EARS!!!!  Everyone has to have a pair!  :-)

Now, separately, they aren't very much, but when you have 4 kids with you, There's $114 in one day on just those 3 things.  Our first trip, we really didn't take into account the amount of extra spending money we would need to get some of these things.

On another note...I've seen so many posts glorifying the boutique there that transforms your little girl into a princess with a sash, hairdo, and glitter for a very steep price.  My personal opinion...avoid this!  Splurge on a princess costume if you don't already have one, spritz on some glitter, and do their hair cute.  Even the pricier costumes will cost less than visiting the boutique - and your princess will look so much cuter than if she did go to the boutique.
